Websites for businesses that actually have customers.

We build sites for independent UK businesses — the kind where the phone ringing matters more than the design award.

A lot of SMEs either have no website, or one someone built for them years ago that nobody can update. Meanwhile the customers are on their phones, looking for opening hours, a menu, a price, or a way to book.

We build the site that answers those questions. We do it in person, we do it in plain English, and we don't disappear once it's live.

How we work

We come to you.

Most web design happens over email, which is why so much of it misses. We'd rather sit in your shop for an hour.

  1. 01

    A visit, not a form

We come to the business. We look at what you sell, how customers find you now, what they ask you on the phone, and what you're tired of explaining. That hour tells us more than any brief you'd write.

  2. 02

We write it down, and read it back

Before anything gets built you get a short written summary: what the site is for, what pages it has, what a visitor should do. Plain language, one page. Nothing starts until you've agreed it — this is the step that stops projects going sideways.

  3. 03

    A quote against that summary

Fixed price for the work described, so you know the number before we start. If you want to add something later, we price the addition separately rather than letting the bill creep.

  4. 04

    We gather what we need

Photos, logo, opening hours, menu or price list, the text you already have. If your photos aren't good enough, we'll tell you honestly. We can write the copy for you if writing isn't your thing.

  5. 05

    First version, shown in person

We come back and walk you through it on a laptop and on a phone. You tell us what to change while we're sitting there, rather than trying to describe it in an email.

  6. 06

    Two rounds of changes

Included as standard. Most businesses use one. Anything beyond two rounds we'll quote separately, and we'll tell you before doing the work, not after.

  7. 07

    Going live

We handle the domain, the hosting and the technical setup. We connect your Google Business listing so you show up on Maps. We check it works on a phone, because that's where most visitors will be.

  8. 08

We show you how to update it

Sat with you, in person. Opening hours over Christmas, a new price list, this week's specials — you should be able to change those yourself without ringing anyone. If you'd rather we did it, we can do that too.

What we build

Three sorts of site.

01

A simple site

For a business that needs to be found and understood. Who you are, what you do, where you are, when you're open, and how to get hold of you. Usually four or five pages, mobile-first, connected to your Google Business listing so you appear in local searches.

Right for: cafés, barbers, garages, tradespeople, shops, anyone whose customers are mostly local.

02

A site that sells

For businesses taking money or bookings online. Product listings, a basket and checkout, or an appointment system where customers book and pay themselves. Stock, delivery options and order notifications all set up and working before you go live.

Right for: retailers, takeaways, salons, studios, anyone selling online or taking bookings.

03

A site with AI built in

Practical tools rather than novelty. A chat assistant trained on your own information — hours, prices, menus, FAQs — answering the questions that interrupt your day. Auto-replies out of hours. Search that understands what a customer means. Product or menu descriptions drafted in your voice. Review responses drafted for you to approve.

We'll be straight about which of these are worth it and which aren't. Most businesses need one or two, not all five.

No lock-in on any of these, and no minimum term. The domain and the site are yours. If you ever want to move them elsewhere, or take over running it yourself, we'll hand everything across without making it difficult.

How we price it

Design and build: £500 to £5,000.

Every quote is specific to the work you want done. A four-page site for a barber and an online shop with three hundred products are not the same job, and pricing them the same would mean one of you is being overcharged.

Most projects land somewhere between £500 and £5,000. A simple site for a local business sits at the lower end. A shop selling online, with a large product range and tools built in, sits at the upper end.

We visit, we write down what you want, and we quote a fixed price against it. You'll have the number before any work starts, and it won't change unless you ask for something that wasn't in the summary.

Domain and hosting are separate

Your domain name and hosting are ongoing costs paid to the companies that provide them. We'll set both up for you and tell you what they cost before you commit — a modest annual charge for the domain and a monthly charge for hosting. You can pay through your own account if you'd prefer, and either way they're registered in your name. We don't mark these up.

Straight answers

Things worth knowing.

How long does it take?

A simple site is usually two to three weeks from the visit. A site that sells takes longer, mostly because of product photos and descriptions. The single biggest delay on every project is waiting for content from the client — the more you have ready, the faster it goes.

Who owns it?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, and the site is yours. If you want to take it elsewhere, we'll hand it over.

What if I already have a website?

We'll look at it and tell you honestly whether it needs rebuilding or just fixing. Sometimes a tidy-up and better photos is all it needs, and we'll say so.

Do I have to buy hosting through you?

No. Domain and hosting are separate costs paid to the providers, not to us, and we don't mark them up. We'll set them up for you as part of the build, or on your own account if you'd rather. Either way they're registered in your name.

Do I have to take a monthly service?

No. The managed and changes-on-demand services are optional. Take the walkthrough, update the site yourself, and pay us nothing further — that's a normal outcome and we won't push you.

I don't have any decent photos.

That's normal and it matters more than most people think. We'll tell you what's needed and can point you at someone local, or work with what you've got and be honest about the result.

Can you write the words?

Yes. Most business owners find writing about themselves harder than running the business. We draft it and you edit.

Is the AI stuff actually useful?

Sometimes. A chat assistant that answers "are you open on Sunday" fifty times a week is useful. One bolted onto a site with eight visitors a month isn't. We'll tell you which situation you're in.

Where to start

Start with a visit.

No charge for the first conversation and no obligation. We'll come and see the business, tell you what we'd do, and quote against it. If you decide not to go ahead, nothing is owed.
